Pray for God's Vision for Mt. Harmony
Bruce Martin, Pastor

I shared with the church some basic needs and asked the church to pray about our vision. Many times we hear the vision of our leaders and immediately begin to wonder if we can afford the changes or where will we come up with the resources to accomplish the vision. I do not know from where the money will come, I just know that God made known to me certain aspects of our ministry and facilities that need to be updated to accommodate our current attendees and the desired growth of our church. I have no knowledge of any upcoming large gifts or people with lots of money who can underwrite the vision, I only know that if we are to move forward we need to do something now. Many of us are already giving above and beyond to the church. There are some that give as much as 25% of their income to this church as part of their tithes and their offerings. There is only one thing I am asking the church to do. I am asking the church to pray.

Prayer is the only resource we have at this time. I believe that God wants to use our church to bring this community to himself. I believe that if we pray and seek His face concerning our vision that He will give us guidance to make the right choices and therefore be in the center of His will. The resources to complete the vision will come when we take the time and make the effort to get in tune with God’s will. As a tool to help us pray, I have put together a 30-Day Prayer Guide. The prayer guide is a mixture of “Need” and “Ministry.” Not every need is mentioned and not every ministry is mentioned, but the guide simply gives us a starting point and a resource for prayer. Pick up your prayer guide in the Welcome Center and let’s begin the much needed discipline of prayer. If you would like to volunteer your house for a cottage prayer meeting, let me know and we will begin announcing special prayer services and the locations.
